Park City 4th of July Parade Update
The 4th of July Parade was a great success for WSD! Our float won a Third Place ribbon in our division, which included schools, non-profits and religious institutions. Mary Kimball and several Middle School students led the way down Main Street, proudly displaying our 12-foot Weilenmann School of Discovery banner. They were followed by a sea of supporters from our Weilenmann community, all donning WSD spirit wear. Our youngest scholars shared their outdoor athletic skills by sliding down our float’s snow-capped mountain. We also blew bubbles, rode bikes, walked our dogs, and—let’s not forget—did the parade wave!
Approximately 50 people walked or rode in the parade, with many supporters on the sidelines. Thanks to all who assisted in the construction of the float itself, and to Linda Lavigne for coordinating all the details. A special thank you to Robert Neubecker for providing the images used in our “limited edition” spirit wear. The parade was a great way to promote the school and to build friendships within our Weilenmann Community.
